The installation, Everyday People, featuring a mixture of photography and film, focuses on ordinary men and women, referencing the style of Lowry who is best-known for his 'matchstick men' - figurative works depicting a mass of bodies going about their everyday lives.

Sleeping Beauties

This is the weekend that under other circumstances I would be in Israel taking part in Spencer Tunick's Naked Sea installation at the Dead Sea in Israel.

By way of compensation (for me - I'm sure you're not bothered) here are the offcial Spencer Tunick images from the Gaasbeek Castle (Belgium) installation that have been published so far.

Completely Naked in Portugal - Action 8 Censura Emocional

I participated in the promo shoot for Completely Naked's Sction 8 - Censura Emocional but was unable to take part in the Action itself, produced in association with the Escrita Na Paisagem festival in Evora, Portugal.

The images released so far make me regret this greatly. The guys are clearly starting to work in a similar area to Spencer Tunick at this stage in their evolution, but I think it has a freshness and vivacity and presence on the part of the particpants that Tunick's work consciously suppresses (or avoids).

I must confess that, much as I enjoy being a part of Spencer's large-scale mass participation installations, there is something more personally rewarding in working on a smaller scale where you as an individual matter to the work more than simply being a tiny detail in something much larger.

The images they have released so far from last week's event really makes me regret that I wasn't a part of it...

Looking for a model?

I am interested in modelling for photographers and am additionally interesting in taking part in more complex photographic or performance-based installations.

I am interested in working with costumes, make-up, props, sets, other models etc. and am comfortable with being fully nude.

If you are looking for a non-standard, older model and would be interested in using me for your photographic portfolio or installation then please leave me a message. Details available on request.

To date I have modelled for/taken part in installations for:
  • Ron Athey (Gifts of the Spirit: Automatic Writing)
  • Julian Baker (Coupled series) - image can be found here (warning: contains nudity)
  • Completely Naked (Pau Ros & Pablo Goikoetxea) (Flashing Bodies Action 7: Quiet Revolution)
  • Completely Naked (Pau Ros) (Flashing Bodie Action 8: Censura Emocional)
  • JocJonJosch (Existere)
  • Daniel Knorr (The Naked Corner: Liverpool Biennial)
  • Adrian Lourie*
  • Redbeardphotos
  • Spencer Tunick

Funny how things come in threes...

Yesterday I received three things in the post...

...the Existere participant photos with a very nice covering letter from JocJonJosch; the participant print from the Spencer Tunick installation at Gaasbeek Castle in Belgium, and the book of the promo shoot for Completely Naked's Flashing Bodies Action Eight: Censura Emocional promo shoot in London. So all my Summer work from July and August arrived on the same day.

Strange pleasure.

Blood artist Ron Athey performs "Resonate/Obliterate" - artnet Magazine

Reading this article and reviewing the main body of Ron Athey's work it is remarkable to me that I took part in one of his performances this year. It has to be said however that Gifts of the Spirit: Automatic Writing was an altogether different and less bloody affair. For me it was still a powerful and emotional experience - and a privilege to work with some extraordinary people, including the delightful Ron Athey.

New work, new images but...

I was recently sent the completed images from November's photoshoots, now edited and with post-production added by the photographers, but unfortunately I can't post most of the pictures here ... too revealing ...

Spencer Tunick's "Naked Sea" art installation revealed

"Naked sea" revealed. 1,200 people bared all to support the environment in this breath-taking, historical event.
“Naked Sea”, artist Spencer Tunick’s awe-inspiring first image from his extraordinary artwork created on the shores of the Dead Sea has been revealed. Tunick located his art project in Israel with the purpose of supporting the global campaign to promote voting for the Dead Sea as one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature. The campaign was originated by the New7Wonders Foundation, headed by Bernard Weber, to find the world's new 'seven wonders' and is in its final stage ending 11.11.11.

Dead Sea Naked

“Naked Sea” is a grassroots project initiated in Israel to emphasise and draw attention to the growing environmental issues of the Dead Sea. More than 1,200 people from Israel and abroad arrived on the Western shores of the lowest lake on Earth just before dawn on Saturday, 17th September to take part in Tunick’s art project.
